The police are investigating criminal offenses at the Zeeland healthcare institution Cleijenborch in Colijnsplaat. According to the regional newspaper PZC Several residents died under suspicious circumstances, always involving the same employee.
The care institution for the elderly reports that the police have indeed started an investigation following an investigation that the institution itself conducted into an employee. This was carried out after other employees complained to management about the staff member’s behavior.
The PZC cites an incident in which an 87-year-old resident fell from one of the emergency stairs with her wheelchair. She was so seriously injured that she died in hospital two days later. How the woman could have fallen down those stairs has never become clear. For example, the employee is often said to have been the last person present before residents died.
Dementia
Approximately 130 people work at Cleijenborch and approximately eighty clients live there. Most people staying in the care institution have some form of dementia and/or physical disabilities, he said Broadcasting Zeeland.
The police cannot yet say much about the investigation. “This has to do with the fact that the investigation has not yet been completed.” The caregiver has not yet been officially identified as a suspect in the case. The healthcare institution has informed employees, clients and family members about the situation.
