The Rottweiler died, the 27-year-old hospitalized under code red. The owner was in shock. Some witnesses speak of gunshots in the house, for others the shot was the thud of the animal on the ground
Mysterious episode on Friday morning in via Frattina, at number 100, in the centre. A 27-year-old pregnant woman was hit by a Rottweiler dog while she was walking: according to an initial reconstruction, the animal fell from a window on the third floor of a building, hitting the passerby.
The 27-year-old pregnant woman injured in the head
The young woman was immediately rescued and transported by ambulance in code red to the Umberto I Polyclinic. However, she was not in serious condition, but had a head injury and suspected head trauma. The police are on site investigating the incident. According to witnesses, the animal, which fell from a height of about 10 metres, produced a noise similar to a gunshot when it hit the ground: “We heard a shot like a gunshot”, declared some passers-by. But others also reported hearing shots coming from the house before the animal fell to the ground. (here is the interview with a journalist present on site). The Carabinieri investigators, however, deny this possibility: they carried out an inspection in the apartment of the 41-year-old owner of the animal without finding weapons or traces of gunshots. Not even blood.
The dog chased the house cats
Upon the arrival of the Carabinieri, in charge of the investigation, a large group of people had formed in the street around the dog’s carcass and its owner, a girl who lives in the apartment on the third floor, in shock and despair over what had happened. The young woman was interviewed by the Carabinieri investigators who also intervened with the survey section to carry out a series of checks. Among the hypotheses, given that there are also some cats in the house, is that the Rottweiler may have fallen while trying to reach one of the felines that had climbed onto the windowsill. At that point, however, he lost his balance and fell down just as the pregnant twenty-year-old was passing by.
