“I am mad with rage”, the words of Frédéric Beltra are virulent in a video published at the beginning of the week on social networks. This father, living in Sète, accuses “the Pfizer vaccine” for killing his 22 year old son.
Maxime Beltra died of angioedema
Monday July 26, at the beginning of the afternoon, Maxime Beltra receives a dose of the Pfizer vaccine in a vaccination center in Sète. In the evening, he goes to the restaurant, before being victim of angioedema. This is an allergic reaction that causes the mucous membranes in the neck to swell and can block breathing. The firefighters try to save him, but Maxime Beltra dies at 11 p.m.
In the process, his father records and publishes his video, which totals more than 400,000 views, and since very shared by anti-vaccine groups in particular. Because for this Sétois, it is the dose of Pfizer that would have caused the fatal allergic reaction. The man thus attacks the government directly: “It is criminal to put on the market vaccines which are not certified and which kill young people in great shape”.
An autopsy will be performed
The Montpellier prosecutor’s office was immediately seized. A judicial investigation in search of the causes of death has been opened, this Wednesday July 28, and an autopsy will be performed.
“Even if it is established at the end (of the autopsy, editor’s note) that the death would result from an allergy, it is already established that the young man ate, shortly before his death, a food for which he had a known allergy. ” – Fabrice Bélargent
Fabrice Bélargent, the prosecutor of the Republic of Montpellier, remains however cautious about the results of this examination which will not necessarily be “conclusive”, according to him. The prosecutor adds that additional investigations will be conducted in the coming weeks.
The Regional Health Agency (ARS) indicates for its part that a “expertise is in progress” to shed light on the causes of this death.
