KPK currently investigating a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) projects in Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health). The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the value of the project in this case reached IDR 3 trillion.
“The project value reaches IDR 3.03 trillion for 5 million sets of PPE,” said Head of KPK News Affairs Ali Fikri at the KPK building, South Jakarta, Friday (10/11/2023).
Ali said the investigation into the case was still ongoing. Ali said the case resulted in state losses of up to hundreds of billions of rupiah.
“The estimated temporary state losses so far are thought to reach hundreds of billions of rupiah and are very likely to grow,” said Ali.
“We certainly regret that large amounts of funds from the government to protect the safety and health of citizens in facing the pandemic are being misused through corrupt practices like this,” he continued.
Ministry of Health Opens Voice
The Ministry of Health has opened its voice regarding the allegations that are currently being investigated by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK). The Ministry of Health said the case occurred before Budi Gunadi Sadikin’s era as Minister of Health.
“From our understanding, this happened before Mr. BGS was Minister of Health,” said Head of the Ministry of Health’s Communications and Public Services Bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, when contacted. detikcom.
Siti said that her party did not yet know the suspect in the case. The Ministry of Health will still wait for the ongoing legal process at the KPK.
“We’ll follow the process first,” said Siti.
