Ukrainian authorities have launched an investigation into the crash of two military fighter planes that killed three pilots.
Among the dead was a pilot known for putting pressure on Kiev’s allies to supply it with American-made F-16 fighters.

The accident occurred on Friday when two L-39 fighter jets collided during mid-air training in the Zhytomyr region, west of the capital Kiev, hundreds of miles from the front line.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, on the X platform, previously on Twitter, that “a catastrophe occurred in the sky over the Zhytomyr region, which led to the death of three pilots, including Andrei Pilshchikov … investigations are underway and the truth will be revealed.”
