Can Serie A players and coaches have relationships with ultras? From the documents of the Milan investigation into the criminal activities of the AC Milan and Inter teams, a series of meetings emerge between figures belonging to organized supporters with illicit interests and some members of the two clubs.

The relations of the ultras with Calabria

Prosecutor Viola explained how there was a meeting between Luke Lukei, AC Milan ultra leader among those arrested as part of this investigation, and AC Milan captain Davide Calabria in a bar in Cologno Monzese. Another documented meeting: the one between the Inter ultras and Milan Skriniar who was about to move to PSG on a free transfer.

Other names that appear are those of Nicolò Barella e Hakan Çalhanogluthat one of the arrested, Marco Ferdicosays he met them “to talk about the critical issues that arose over the Champions League final ticket issue, and he even learned of the Turkish footballer’s complaints about the club’s behaviour”. The coach Simone Inzaghihowever, is at the center of one of the most publicized interceptions of this investigation: as usual Ferdico, who asks him for 200 more tickets for the Champions League final, promises: “I speak with Ferri, with Zanetti, with Marotta… I speak with those , then I’ll let you know something… I’ll take action and tell you what they tell me.”

What the players and the coach risk

Well, what do they all risk? In terms of regulations, there could be some problems. Article 25 of the sports justice code in paragraph 10 is clear, in fact: “Members are prohibited from having relationships with representatives of groups or groups of supporters who are not part of associations affiliated with the clubs”. And again: “In any case such relationships must be authorized by the company’s delegate for relations with fans.” And in case of violation, those responsible are punished with disqualification for “one or more matches”, “timed suspension” and a fine which for Serie A players amounts to 20 thousand euros.

The federal prosecutor’s office can listen to the players involved

Obviously, every single case can be sanctioned, multiplying the penalty. for this reason the federal prosecutor wanted to request the documents, starting from the precautionary custody order. And maybe he might even decide to listen to them. In the meantime they will be heard by prosecutors. Then, football will also decide whether this investigation deserves an entirely sporting conclusion.
