An investigation into the companies around Mahassine was opened last year after an article was published by the satirical website ‘t Scheldt. According to the editors of ‘t Scheldt, there was embezzlement and a conflict of interest. ‘t Scheldt accused Mahassine of pumping a financial reserve of millions of euros intended for social purposes into his own companies.
