After the deaths of Mariano Caprarola and Silvina Luna, the investigation into Aníbal Lotocki’s medical practices is advancing and growing, as are the complaints against him by dozens of patients who were affected. Now, the lawyer of Pamela Sosa, one of the victims, asserted that the doctor has “protection” from politics.
Juan Pablo Fioribello was the first lawyer to denounce Aníbal Lotocki, representing Sosa, victim and former partner of the defendant. At that time, a search of one of his clinics and a preventive closure of one of the operating rooms was achieved.

The case is quite stagnant in justice and the reason for this procedural slowness cannot be clearly specified. In addition to this, Fioribello expressed himself in dialogue with TN, clarified that he no longer fulfills the role of lawyer for the media and revealed: “When she came to see me in my studio for the first time, she was in so much pain that she couldn’t even stand up , I had all the nerves in my legs inflamed ».
And he added: “I am still involved in the case because we carried it out from scratch and we achieved a very important advance such as the prosecution.”
The cause is labeled as “serious injuries” and Fioribello assures that, beyond the fact that the disqualification of Lotocki’s registration is not yet a fact, the Cassation Chamber managed to have a precautionary measure taken against him.
At the same time, he referred to the autopsy that was carried out on the body of Silvina Luna, which -he stated- will add more light on the fact and complicate the procedural situation of the doctor: “He has a prison sentence for four years, a disqualification from nine years to practice medicine and a firm prosecution for simple homicide in the cause of the death of Cristián Zárate. So, if a causal link was found in Silvina’s death, he would drastically aggravate the situation because one more prosecution for homicide would be added to him, “he said.

Several victims of the surgeon assured in the media that he has political protection and the one who emphasized this the most was Pamela Sosa herself, a client of the lawyer in question. For this reason, he was consulted about this possible “protection”.
«I have no doubt that he had protection. I have been handling criminal cases for many years and it was striking that every time we sought some type of search measure, someone would pick up the phone to stop things. No one told me this, I have experienced it firsthand, ”he denounced.
On the other hand, he confirmed that he no longer has that letter and that, in addition, he feels judicially caged by the current causes and those that are coming: «Unfortunately, he operated on hundreds of people. There are a lot of people who don’t dare to speak out of shame and fear of exposure, but they write to me and tell me that they feel they have a time bomb inside their bodies. They are terrified of what might happen to them,” he concluded.
