Photo: Yonhap News The police began an investigation after believing that five members of a family in Songpa-gu, Seoul owe hundreds of millions of won in debt after making extreme choices in different places.

According to Songpa Police Station in Seoul, it was confirmed that Mr. Oh, in his 40s, who died after falling from an apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 23rd, usually asked his family and acquaintances to lend money or recommend investments.

As a result of the police investigation, it was reported that Mr. Oh was sued for fraud in June last year after failing to repay a debt worth 260 million won.

It was revealed that city gas bills billed in Oh’s name at the villa owned by Mr. Oh’s parents were in arrears for more than a year.

The police are also tracing transaction details to see if Oh’s deceased husband and in-laws are among those who lent money or invested money to Oh.

Meanwhile, while investigating the circumstances of Ms. Oh’s death, the police found the bodies of her husband, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law in a villa in Songpa-dong, and the bodies of her elementary school daughter in a hotel in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The police presumed that the elementary school daughter died of suffocation, and confirmed that Mr. Oh entered the hotel with his daughter on the 22nd and left the hotel alone the next day.

However, no clues were found that Ms. Oh discussed extreme choices with her husband and in-laws.

The police are requesting autopsies on four members of the family, excluding Oh, and are also investigating the possibility that Oh killed her daughter before making the extreme choice.
