The police are investigating the case of an elderly couple in their 70s who went missing and were found dead in a mud flat during the Chuseok holiday, keeping in mind the possibility that their son, who was with them, may have been involved, rather than a simple case of disappearance.
According to the Taean Marine Police Station on the 8th, Mr. A, in his 40s, the son of an elderly couple in their 70s who went missing last month and was found dead, was arrested on charges of assisting suicide and is being investigated.
Mr. A reported that his parents, who were in their 70s and were swimming together in the mudflats, could not be seen around 1:30 pm on the 30th of last month.
Mother B was found dead near the mud flat where she disappeared the next morning on the 1st, and father C was found dead in the sea near Yeondo, Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do on the morning of the 6th.
There were no apparent signs of murder on the bodies of the deceased couple. However, if you look at the closed-circuit (CC) TV footage secured by the police, it shows Mr. A moving with his parents toward the mud flat on the day of his disappearance and coming out alone some time later.
The police are investigating the details of the incident, leaving open the possibility that Mr. A may have been involved in the disappearance of the elderly couple.
