It will still take some time to understand how the battle over the Agnelli inheritance will end. Yesterday a three-hour hearing took place in the Turin investigation into the alleged tax fraud relating to Marella Agnelli’s income. The judges reserve their rights, as per practice before the review court: by Saturday they will express their opinion on the seizures of recent days. The magistrates, reports Il Giornale, have ordered a computer assessment of the material acquired.

The situation does not scare John Elkann’s lawyers at all: “We have read it too. We have not found anything new compared to what has been echoing in Italian and foreign courtrooms for twenty years now and yet we have one certainty, that all the insinuations and doubts that have been relaunched by the media in recent days find very clear answers in behaviors absolutely legal. We want the magistrates to work in complete tranquility and for our part we are extremely calm because in the end I think that the outcome of this matter will be favourable: much ado about nothing”.
