Investigation Continues on Finding Illegal Firearms at Dito Mahendra’s Home

Bareskrim Polri is still investigating the finding of illegal firearms (senpi) at home Here Mahendra. Dito will be summoned for questioning.

“Summons tomorrow (Thursday, April 6, 2023),” said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandi Rahardjo Puro when asked for confirmation, Wednesday (5/4/2023).

Djuhandi said the owner of the illegal rifle was not yet known because Dito had never appeared for questioning.

“While it is not yet known (the owner of the illegal gun) because we have not examined Dito,” he said.

Djuhandi said that his party was investigating the finding of the gun that started with a search by the KPK at Dito’s house. The Corruption Eradication Committee found the senpi, which later turned the case over to the National Police.

“Approximately so, the KPK’s arrests were handed over to the National Police and after checking intel there were weapons without certificates, then Tipidum investigated them,” he added.

The police received a request from Dito Mahendra to postpone the examination schedule regarding the possession of 15 illegal firearms (senpi). Djuhandhani said Dito would still be summoned on Thursday.

It is known that Dito was absent during his first summons on Monday (3/4). Then the second call is scheduled for Thursday (6/4).

The police asked Dito to fulfill the investigator’s summons. If he is absent again, Dito will be picked up by force.

“In the process of this investigation, we have carried out forced efforts. If now you are not present at the second summons, the rules are like that. The second summons is not present, the investigator will complete with an order to bring the person concerned,” said Djuhandani at the National Police Headquarters, Tuesday (4/4).

Case of Illegal Guns Rises Investigation

As is known, Bareskrim Polri raised the status of the case of finding illegal firearms at Dito Mahendra’s residence when the KPK searched them for investigation. The case went up to investigation after the police conducted a case title.

“Last Friday a fingerprinting case was opened and starting today we have taken steps to investigate,” said the Dirtipidum Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro to reporters, Monday (3/4).

Djuhandani said Dito had been summoned to ask for clarification during the investigation, but did not attend. He has not explained when his party summoned Dito again to be examined during the investigation process.

“Yesterday, we were still investigating and invited for clarification,” he said.

“Yes, we will see further, while I cannot answer the interests of the investigation. What is clear is that last Friday the case was raised from investigation to investigation,” he continued.
