The police immediately determined the legal status Ghatan Saleh in the shooting case in Jatinegara, East Jakarta (Jaktim). Police said the firearm that Ghatan Saleh allegedly used during the action was thrown into the Ciliwung River.
“It is true that the weapon used is thought to be a firearm with a 7.65 mm caliber,” said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Nicolas Ary Lilipaly in a press conference at his office, Thursday (29/2/2024).
This information, said Kombes Nicolas, was conveyed by experts after carrying out ballistic tests. The expert also said there were three types of weapons that were thought to match the ballistic test results.
“And the types of weapons used, according to experts, there are three types of weapons that are estimated, namely the P-3A pistol, the Glock type, and the Beretta,” said Commissioner Nicolas.
“The firearms allegedly used by the alleged perpetrator have not been found by investigators because the reason established by the perpetrator was that the weapons had been thrown in the Ciliwung River,” he added.
However, the police will still continue to investigate Ghatan Saleh’s confession. This afternoon the police will conduct a case to further determine the legal status of Ghatan Saleh.
Ghatan Saleh was forcibly picked up by the police on February 28 2024 in the Tajur area, Bogor, after failing to respond to summons properly twice. He was previously reported by Mohammad Andika Mowardi.
Police said Ghatan and Andika were previously involved in an argument. After that, Ghatan took out a gun and fired a shot that hit the shop window, the shards of which hit Andika. In short, Andika reported Ghatan to the police.
