Investigation Continues into Cause of Matthew Perry’s Sudden Death

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office revealed on Sunday that determining the cause of actor Matthew Perry’s death requires additional investigation before arriving at a conclusion about the circumstances of his sudden death.

The office updated its records online Sunday afternoon, listing the cause of death of the “Friends” star, best known for his character Chandler, as “postponed.”

According to Los Angeles coroner’s guidelines, “In cases where the cause of death cannot be determined at the time of autopsy, a certificate of postponement will be issued, until all additional studies have been completed.”

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide and Robbery Section is investigating Perry’s death, but a law enforcement source told the network:CNNHe “does not suspect murder.”

The Los Angeles Times revealed on Saturday that Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his home at 4 pm the same day.

Perry, the son of actor John Bennett Perry and Susan Marie Langford, former press secretary for Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, was born in 1969 and grew up between Montreal and Los Angeles after his parents separated when Perry was one year old.

Perry moved between roles until he got the role that brought him to fame, which was the role of “Chandler Bing” in the series “Friends” in 1994.

The role earned him an Emmy Award nomination in 2002, and he received four other nominations for the prestigious award.
