Investigation Concludes: Did Pernik Kidnap Sashko? bTV Reports the Findings.

First on bTV – the investigation into the disappearance of 12-year-old Alexander from Pernik is over.

The boy was missing for nine days and eight nights, and his fate touched thousands of Bulgarians who did not stop looking for him.

And until now, Alexander cannot explain what exactly he experienced, since the child is autistic.

The experts are categorical – 12-year-old Sashko from Pernik was not kidnapped, but lost.

He has managed to survive all by himself, without food and water, without outside intervention.

The child disappeared on November 11 last year in the area of the Prophylactorium in Pernik. Four months later it is clear that he was feeding on rose hips, apples and grass. He also managed to find water. Being autistic, Alexander still cannot explain what exactly he experienced.

On March 10, four months after he lost sight of his son and he disappeared without a trace, Sashko’s father, Alexander Tsvetanov, was called to the police in Pernik to get acquainted with the conclusion of the investigators as to what happened then.

“The expert’s opinion is that the child was in the forest all the time. There were even examinations of the feet, as they had mushroomed in the shoes. And there it was found that no one had taken it off. His feet were never dried, and this condition of his feet corresponds to those eight days in which he was constantly in his shoes,” said Sashko’s father Alexander Tsvetanov.

According to the collected evidence, Sashko initially found refuge in the bushes.

“These scratches that are on the hands and on the head, they were at the beginning, maybe at the beginning he hid in some bushes, they had healed already towards the end, so maybe at the beginning he was in the bushes, then it moved in some ways,” he added.

The child was able to eat and drink water, experts say.

The regional directorate of the police in Pernik confirmed to bTV that the investigation into the case has ended.

“The materials have been reported to the prosecutor’s office. Before the supervising prosecutor decides whether the pre-trial proceedings should be terminated or not, we do not have the right to discuss the evidence,” added the police.

The prosecutor’s office in Pernik specified to our team that they have a period of one month to review the materials and decide whether a crime has been committed in the case or not. They will comment later.

Since Sashko has been with his father again, his condition has improved significantly.

“I soon realized that he can even make some clay dishes with his hands, he is learning ceramics, we draw, he learned to swim. Obviously, he has a lot of talent. I am happy that he is like that and that he can do so many things”, added Sashko’s father.
