Consider this post more of a supplement to the latest vidcast than a thoughtful stand-alone effort. With a bit of exaggeration, when looking for a topic before the last shoot, I thought to myself as if we had perhaps exhausted all topics. And this naturally exaggerated heretical idea led me to the idea that the only thing left to do was to completely invent such a post. Perhaps also under the impression of the fictitious story that Honzo came up with in the previous vidcast. But it’s not just about coming up with a theme, it’s about coming up with everything else. And that shouldn’t be a problem with modern technology, I thought.
So I turned, as is popular lately, to artificial intelligence. Specifically, I used the Microsoft Bing Image Creator, which relies on DALL·E 3 technology. My idea was not at all sophisticated. I wanted to create fictional images from famous games. I deliberately used the exact same and completely primitive password every time in the wording: “Create a picture from the game XY.” I had no idea what to expect. I was hoping these would be not-so-obvious variations on familiar themes. And then I wanted to present them to the boys. As it quickly became clear, my naivety nearly ruined such a quiz for me. The first few pictures were so similar to the original that it could hardly be called a quiz in the true sense of the word.
So I reconsidered my idea. If DALL·E 3 can handle the global greatest hits this well, I have to be more demanding. I turned my attention to the Czech games, hoping that it would be more of a challenge for the AI. In some cases yes, at other times her creations were surprisingly eloquent. In any case, I thought that the result is so interesting that I will try to share it this way as well. I will emphasize once again that I chose the games basically randomly, I was only interested in a basic variety in genres, sizes and ages. I didn’t choose anything, I didn’t reject anything. I’m going to show you everything that Bing Image Creator threw at me. In all cases, what has already been said applies. The password would be deliberately as primitive as possible, the command still the same and only the name of the game changed. The instructions did not include information about the origin of the game, age, genre, simply nothing like that.
