The time change is approaching. In many families, the change between summer and winter time is an additional stress factor.
Kassel – An hour ahead or an hour back? How exactly the clock is turned is a frequently asked question twice a year. But what is always clear to everyone is that the daily rhythm is initially thrown into disarray.
The Association for Education and Upbringing (VBE) in Hesse is therefore calling for the time change to be abolished. It puts a strain on the body and leads to stress in families with school-age children, especially if it is already difficult Kinder to get to bed in the evening, says Stefan Wesselmann, the state chairman. He emphasized: “The time change was apparently invented by people who don’t have children.” The VBE is therefore campaigning for a complete return to winter time.

Hessian teachers’ association wants to completely return to winter time
The last weekend in October marks the end of summer time and the beginning of winter time. On the night of Sunday, October 27th, the clocks will be set back from 3:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. The time change is a controversial topic. In 2018, the EU Commission conducted a Europe-wide survey of citizens – over 80 percent spoke out against the change in the unrepresentative study. In order to abolish it, however, the EU countries would have to agree on whether they want to keep summer or winter time permanently. There is no agreement here.
