BABH declared calamity to the enemy from at the moment for 15,000 decares of pastures and uncultivable lands
The Bulgarian Meals Security Company (BFSA) is taking measures to manage Moroccan grasshopper V Blagoevgrad area, after issued order No. RD 09-695/20.06.2024. of the Minister of Agriculture and Meals to declare a calamity of Moroccan locust for a similar space from 21 June 2024.
We recall that a month in the past, the calamity of the Moroccan locust was declared within the Kardzhali area and a bit later therapy with pesticides started on the attacked roughly 20,000 decares of land.
Within the Blagoevgrad district, till 21.06.2024, the areas affected by the Moroccan locust are about 15,000 decares – meadows, pastures and waste lands, on the territory of the municipality of Sandanski, the lands of the villages of Lyubovka, Ladarevo and Jigurovo, and within the municipality of Petrich, the lands of the villages of Marikostinovo and Common Todorov. No areas with agricultural crops are affected.
The interval for the implementation of measures to eradicate the Moroccan locust downside is from 21 June to fifteen July 2024. The licensed plant safety merchandise might be used to manage the inhabitants.
