Inul Daratista suddenly caught up in the current of excitement about Poppy Capella, the national director of Miss Universe Indonesia. He is said to have blood relations with Poppy.
The sworddut then denied this. He said that at that time Poppy Capella only called herself aunt because it was a casual nickname.
“Everyone calls me mother, mother or aunt, even sis, but in lineage there is no (with Poppy Capella). There is no flesh and blood,” said Inul Daratista when met at Studio Trans TV, Tendean, South Jakarta, Monday (14/8/2023).
Then, Adam Suseno explained the relationship between Poppy Capella and his wife to the extent that he was referred to as his aunt.
“Well, Inul’s parents and her aunt’s parents are steps, right, different parents and grandmother. Well, her aunt married Poppy’s uncle, but Inul’s parents and her aunt’s parents who are called aunt (by Poppy) are too far away “Indeed there is no blood relation and lineage,” said Adam Suseno.
On the same occasion, Inul Daratista admitted that he had only met Poppy Capella for the first time.
“Poppy also met the family, introduced her husband once. It was a long time before her uncle died, it’s been a very long time, yes, she likes to joke, ‘I have nephews entrusted to me’,” said Inul Daratista.
“Many say this is ‘Inul’s sedulure, Inul’s nephew’ even though there is no genealogy,” he explained.
Previously, Poppy Capella, who was first known as a singer, had indeed called Inul Daratista her aunt.
“I used to be a pop singer when I first came to Jakarta, a singer at a wedding. When I heard Aunt Inul’s song, Masa Lalu and Buaya Buntung made me switch to dangdut,” said Poppy Capella during an interview in 2017.
He also seemed to make sure that Inul Daratista knew him personally by saying he didn’t want to use the dangdut singer’s big name for the sake of his popularity.
“If you can stand alone it’s better. I really don’t want to depend on my aunt, I don’t want to hitch a ride,” he explained.
