The emergence of the new Yaroslavl “four” is associated with the introduction of protective sanctions against Russian manufacturers, due to which many imported components (including Bosch fuel equipment) have become unavailable in Russia. This forced YaMZ to start modernizing YaMZ-534/536 in-line engines, the serial production of which began back in 2012. As a result, two new families of engines appeared – 4-cylinder YaMZ-535 and 6-cylinder YaMZ-537. In both cases, minders did not limit themselves to a simple replacement of fuel equipment, but increased the working volume and made a number of changes to the design. Thanks to this, the power of the engines has also increased.

Compared to the YaMZ-534, the diameter and stroke of the piston have grown from 105×128 mm to 110×135 mm. Accordingly, the working volume of the YaMZ-535 increased from 4.43 to 5.1 liters. The new “four” is equipped with a fuel pump manufactured by YAZDA. Fuel supply system – accumulator type with microprocessor control. To achieve the Euro-5 environmental class and improved technical and economic indicators, the YaMZ-535 engines use the SCR exhaust gas cleaning system.

Currently, YaMZ-535 has three power options: 190, 210 and 240 hp. With. Modifications differ in the firmware of the electronic control unit (manufacturer – ITELMA) and boost pressure.

Pre-series motors for testing as part of the equipment were at their disposal at the Ural Automobile Plant, MAZ, LIAZ and PAZ.

In addition, at the MIMS Automobility Moscow 2023 exhibition, Avtodiesel PJSC presented a new YaMZ-1309 9-speed manual gearbox, which has improved characteristics compared to its predecessors: the weight (up to 332 kg) and the gearshift force (twice ), the noise level decreased (up to 88 dBA). In YaMZ-1309, a small-sized demultiplier with an aluminum alloy crankcase is used.

The new gearbox can be installed with both in-line and V-shaped engines, both on hooded and cabover vehicles without additional modifications by the consumer. In addition, YaMZ-1309 can have three power take-off options.
