The path of this model to the assembly line turned out to be long and multi-stage, since the Tank 700 appeared as a concept car three years ago. The “seven hundred” commercial was shown last fall, but it was a welcome special version with an amazing body kit, which cost 700 thousand yuan (97 thousand dollars) and sold only 70 copies. And just now at the Beijing Auto Show the production Tank 700 came out in its standard version, and GWM revealed all its features.
This is the largest model of the Tank brand to date: length – 5090 mm, width – 2061 mm, height – 1952 mm, and wheelbase – 3000 mm. 20-inch wheels are standard, but the top configuration comes with 22-inch wheels. Despite its impressive dimensions, the Tank 700 only has two rows of seats, but the rear sofa has an electric seat, heating and ventilation.
Expensive materials were used to decorate the interior, including genuine leather and aluminium. Early prototypes featured well-shaped devices, but in the end a standard 12.3-inch display was chosen. The media system has a 16.2-inch screen, a Harman / Kardon audio system with sixteen speakers and advanced contour lights, and the steering column has an electric drive.
The most interesting thing is the technology. If until now all Tank SUVs had the P71 platform with spring suspension and continuous rear axle, the Tank 700 became the first model on the D71 bogie. It has retained the frame, but has a multi-link rear suspension, and air springs and adaptive shock absorbers have been installed all around. The specified ground clearance in the standard setting is 249 mm, but can be adjusted over a range of 120 mm. In addition, there are anti-roll bars that cannot be unlocked: when they are locked, the back travel of the wheels increases by 60 mm.
In China, the Tank 700 is only offered as a hybrid appeal with the proprietary Hi4-T system. Under the hood is a V6 3.0 petrol turbo engine (like the Tank 500) with an output of 360 hp. and 560 Nm. And the 9HAT nine-speed automatic transmission has a built-in 163 hp electric motor. and 400 Nm. The maximum output of the system is 524 hp. and 800 Nm. The all-wheel drive transmission is the same as the “five hundred” – with a front axle connection, a reduction gear and locks of both cross-axle differentials.
A traction battery with a capacity of 37.1 kWh is installed in the rear cover, which is why the Tank 700 has such a high boot floor. In pure electric mode, the SUV can travel up to 90 km on the WLTP cycle. The battery can be charged using AC or DC current. With a charged battery, a hybrid with a curb weight of 3110 kg can reach “hundreds” in 5.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 190 km / h. The total weight of the car according to the passport is 3630 kg, but in China the “seven hundred” can be driven with a passenger compartment license.
On the local market, this tank is offered in two trim levels at a price of 428 thousand and 468 thousand yuan (59 thousand and 65 thousand dollars). “Semisotka” is expected in Russia, and in a direct gasoline version with a V6 engine.
