Sharp has announced another smartphone under the Aquos brand. The eighth generation model is called Sharp Aquos Sense 8.
What is known
The smartphone is equipped with an IGZO OLED display in Full HD+ format (2432 x 1080 pixels). The panel has a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz, but in Black Frame Insertion mode. Without this, the frame rate is 90 Hz.
The heart of the Sharp Aquos Sense 8 is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 mobile processor. The chipset is made using 4 nm technology. The CPU has a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, and the graphics subsystem is represented by Adreno 710 GPU. The amount of RAM was 6 GB (LPDDR4x), and the storage capacity was 128 GB (UFS 2.2).
At the back there is a dual main camera without a telephoto lens. The resolution is 50 MP + 8 MP. The main module has an optical image stabilization system. There is an 8MP front camera for selfies.
Sharp Aquos Sense 8 has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, as well as protection according to IP68, MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-810H standards. In addition, the smartphone received a side fingerprint scanner, USB-C, headphone jack and NFC.
The cost of Sharp Aquos Sense 8 was $415. The new product will go on sale with a pre-installed Android 13 operating system in black, bronze, olive and blue body colors.
