The upcoming RPG The Chinese Room Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has just revealed its protagonist. Players will take on the role of Phyre, a clan of elders with their own unique history, traveling through a dark version of Seattle.
Players will be able to customize Phyre’s gender, clan, and clothing, but beyond that, visually, they’re a unique character.Furthermore, asIGNAs revealed while speaking with narrative designer Arone Le Bray, players will gain a companion in Fabien, a thin-blooded vampire who inhabits the player’s body and acts as a kind of guide.
“Even if you don’t quite understand what’s going on at first,Fabian is also here to illustrate that you become that cipher, even if it’s not your role,”Lebre said.“You, the player, still get this information with Phil.”
Le Bray also talked about how the game doesn’t necessarily have binary good or evil choices, but instead lets players switch between making “good” and “bad” decisions.“We don’t want to make it seem like you can only be a good guy or a jerk. So, one of the things we looked at very early on was, how can we make Phyre feel like someone who’s in control all the time? We looked at What different reactions would you have at a given moment to get the result you want? How can you get that result?
