In July of this year, the long-awaited new product from OnePlus was presented: the Nord 3 5G smartphone on the flagship platform. The device is decorated in the brand’s signature design: minimalist and expensive. Improvements have affected all aspects of the hardware and brought the device to the top of the mid-range segment. Why the model is interesting, for which use cases it is optimally suited – let’s figure it out together.
The smartphone is built on a million-dollar MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, which is manufactured using a thin 4-nm process technology. The powerful processor works together with the latest LPDDR5X standard RAM and fast UFS 3.1 storage. Installation of a memory card is not provided.
Versions with memory capacities of 8/128 GB and 16/256 GB are available to users. This filling, accompanied by a well-optimized custom shell OxygenOS 13.1 on Android 13, guarantees high performance. The developers claim that the system will handle up to 44 applications running simultaneously in multitasking mode.
OnePlus Nord 3 is equipped with a bright screen (up to 1450 nits) with a diagonal of 6.74 inches and a resolution of 2772 x 1240 with a high pixel density of 450 ppi. The matrix is made using Fluid AMOLED technology with an adaptive refresh rate from 40 to 120 Hz 120 Hz, and the touch response reaches a frequency of 1000 Hz, which gamers will certainly appreciate. HDR10+ streaming and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut are supported. A total of 4 profiles are available with manual color temperature adjustment. The screen has very thin frames. A fingerprint scanner is also integrated here.
The device can easily be classified as a camera phone, thanks to the main six-lens Sony IMX890 50 MP sensor with optical and digital stabilization (OIS + EIS). The same sensor is installed in the company’s flagship model OnePlus 11. The second lens is an ultra-wide angle with a resolution of 8 MP and a viewing angle of 112 degrees. A 2-megapixel macro sensor was installed next to it. The front camera has a 16 MP sensor with EIS stabilization and fixed focus. The smartphone can record 4K at 60 fps, and in low light it uses intelligent noise reduction algorithms.
OnePlus Nord 3 supports 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. There is also an infrared port for controlling smart devices. NFC module is available. USB Type-C 2.0 is used to connect the power adapter. There’s no 3.5mm jack for wired headphones, but the dual speakers with Dolby Atmos provide decent stereo sound. A physical sound mode switch has returned to the model. The 5,000 mAh battery is charged via fast 80-watt wired charging with Oppo’s SuperVOOC controller, which preserves the battery and doubles the predicted number of charge cycles. There is IP54 level protection against splashes and dust.
The new product is offered on Yandex.Market in the maximum configuration of memory 16/256 MB and the global version. Buying a smartphone OnePlus Nord 3 will cost 43,000 rubles. We checked the cost of the device on the Aliexpress platform and made sure that it coincides with the offers of the Russian marketplace. By the way, a device with a smaller amount of memory will not cost much less: you will be able to save only 2-3 thousand.
