Apple today introduced another model of its stylus for iPads. Apple Pencil USB-C, as the name suggests, will use the universal USB-C connector for pairing and charging, which all iPhones have for the first time this year. The new stylus is also the cheapest Apple Pencil offered by the American manufacturer to date. It will go on sale in the Czech Republic in November for 2300 CZK.
The new Apple Pencil is supposed to excel with its accuracy, low latency and tilt sensitivity. It will be used, just like the previous two generations, for taking notes, drawing, annotating documents or writing in a diary. The body is made of matte plastic and has flat sides for a better grip and also easily attaches to the side of any iPad. Here, however, unlike the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, it will not be charged wirelessly, the mentioned USB-C connector will be used for this purpose.
The new Apple Pencil has a USB-C connector hidden behind a sliding cover, so it is not normally visible
The new pencil works with all iPad models with a USB-C port. It also supports features of the iPadOS system, such as Handwriting and Quick Notes, as well as working on a common canvas in the Freeform application. In combination with iPad Pros with the M2 chip, it also reacts to holding the tip just above the display, which makes it possible to achieve even more accurate results when drawing or illustrating.
Since both previous generations of styluses are still on sale, Apple has prepared a graphic that clarifies the individual functions of each of the Apple Pencil variants. The reason why the newly introduced USB-C version is cheaper than the two older ones is that it does not react to the pressure of the hand when writing and drawing. But not everyone requires this feature. The first generation of the stylus is not flattened, does not have a magnet and is charged via the old Lightning connector.
