In 1998 at the Ypsilon under construction Blue elephant (in the picture), which entered the price list the year before in place of the basic LE version, is joined by the sporty Elefantino Rosso. Distinguished by the symbol of the HF racing team of the Turin company, on the outside it stands out for its 15” burnished alloy wheels, larger tyres, titanium gray mirrors and a grille in the same color as the bodywork. Inside, however, the leather steering wheel and gear knob with red stitching, the yellow backlit dashboard and the dashboard and seat sides lined in Alcantara stand out. With the same 1.2 16-valve 86 HP of the Punto Sporting under the bonnet, the most spirited of the Ys sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and almost reaches 180 km/h.
