Introducing the 3T Ultra Boost: The Ultimate Electric Off-Road Bike

In many ways, modern trail bikes embody the spirit of early mountain bikes. They’re essentially road bikes for rough trails, only now they’re packed with cutting-edge technology like electronic shifting, carbon fiber frames, and electric motors.

The growing market for electric off-road bikes, especially for riders looking to electrify their adventures, offers many high-end options. The latest model comes from Italian cycling specialist 3T and it’s called the Ultra Boost. The Ultra Boost has nothing to do with Adidas’ popular line of sneakers, the Ultra Boost is about giving you an electric off-road riding experience. Designed as a long-range version of the brand’s Boost off-road e-bike, the Ultra Boost packs impressive technology and performance. Let’s take a closer look.

First, 3T chose the compact but powerful Mahle X20 drive system for the Ultra Boost. With a maximum torque of 55Nm, the X20 promises a confident ride without compromising the natural pedaling feel. Through the Mahle MySmartBike app, riders can adjust the assist and power modes according to their preferences.

The new 3T Ultra Boost draws its power from a Mahle iX350 battery pack with a capacity of 350 Wh. It can go up to 150km on a single charge, but that can vary greatly in your riding style and terrain. The battery is housed in the downtube of the carbon fiber frame, and the slender battery keeps the bike in a sporty silhouette, making it easy to mistake the Ultra Boost for a sleek and aerodynamic non-electric bike. Speaking of the frame, it is capable of accommodating tire widths up to 61mm, so riders can have a wide variety of tires to choose from.

At just 12kg, the 3T Ultra Boost is lighter than some entry-level non-electric road and off-road bikes. This is not only thanks to the carbon fiber frame and lightweight Mahle motor, but also thanks to the lightweight drivetrain and brake system from Sram; the 3T Ultra Boost comes in three different models, and it is definitely not a cheap electric bike. price fromfrom 5999 eurosabout 208,000 Taiwan dollars.
