Samsung The Freestyle has become one of the most interesting novelties of CES 2022 and in general one of the most notable gadgets of the past year. Samsung has created not just “another portable projector”, but a real modular platform that can be supplemented with various accessories. Editorial gg I counted 6 different scenarios for its use, but the main thing that distinguishes it from other devices is portability, the presence of Smart TV and the ability to project an image with a diagonal of up to 100 inches on any surface (wall or ceiling). And we remember it with a quick automatic correction of focus and trapezoid when changing the direction of the image. At IFA 2023, Samsung announced an update to this amazing gadget, officially called “The Freestyle 2nd Gen”, with several notable improvements.
Four main differences between Samsung The Freestyle 2nd generation
1. 160″ panoramic view function: teamwork
Now two projectors can be connected together to create an image up to 160 inches in 28:9 aspect ratio in landscape orientation and up to 120 inches in vertical orientation in 16:15 aspect ratio. At the same time, the manufacturer notes the perfect synchronization of pictures from two projectors and an imperceptible transition between images. Panoramic view will also be available for streaming from a smartphone.
2. Increased work speed: less waiting time
The Freestyle 2nd generation received an increased amount of RAM from 1.5 to 2 GB and, of course, the developers were able to optimize the software during this time. This made it possible to improve the speed of the portable projector: the manufacturer declares that the interface has become 22% faster, and application launch has accelerated by 59%.
3. SolarCell remote control: forget about batteries
Like modern Samsung TVs, the manufacturer’s new portable projector received a proprietary SolarCell remote control, which is charged by sunlight and is made from materials consisting of 24% recycled plastic. It’s a modern and greener alternative to disposable, recyclable batteries, and saves you money on buying new batteries for your remote.
4. Extended light source warranty: buy for years
All projector users know that the light source has a certain resource. In general, it depends on the usage scenarios of the device and is calculated in tens of thousands of hours of use (because this is the main factor affecting the durability). And here is the good news – Samsung The Freestyle 2nd generation has one and a half times the warranty on the light source than its predecessor: it has been increased from 20,000 to 30,000 hours. This is 3 years and 5 months of continuous operation in 24×7 mode. That is, even if you use the projector 8 hours a day, the resource of its light source will last for 10 years.
