Introducing PHOTOFAIRS New York: An Innovative Contemporary Art Fair for Photographic Works

This is the first edition of PHOTOFAIRS New Yorkthe new contemporary art fair dedicated to analogue and digital photographic works of art.

Organized by Believe and its majority shareholder Angus Montgomery Artsand in collaboration with Candlestarthe fair takes place at Javits Center September 8-10, 2023 (VIP preview September 7) and desires to add a new and distinct dimension to the global art fair landscape.

Along with booth presentations, PHOTOFAIRS New York presents a range of dynamic special projects, large-scale installations, publishing projects and an annual acquisition prize for exhibiting artists, established in partnership with 21c Museum Hotels. Visitors have the opportunity to explore an array of highly curated displays, from investigations into the craft and materiality of photography to its intersections with emerging technologies. More than a third of the fair is devoted to individual presentations, offering the opportunity to discover emerging image-makers, as well as exhibitions by renowned photographers. Alongside the Armory Show, PHOTOFAIRS New York makes the first week of September the annual highlight of the New York arts calendar.
