Currently, there is one model on offer, which can have different colors and different equipment. “It is homologated for two people, so it has footrests, and instead of a box, you can snap on a second seat,” said Miroslav Špaček, CEO of the start-up Goodped, which makes Mopedix. The company has already launched an e-shop, Mopedix offers for 134,444 crowns.
According to Špaček, the company is able to deliver hundreds of mopeds to the market. “In the beginning, we had plans in the thousands. The plan was, at least, to moped the Czech Republic and surrounding states where mopeds have some tradition, or to revive or restart that tradition. But the technology is not exactly cheap, so now it is about hundreds of pieces per year that we will try to apply. We also offer some pre-production pieces that differ in details,” added Špaček.
Špaček is not afraid of the competition of e-bikes, which do not require a driver’s license. “For me it’s more of an alternative, I think it will be more for other people than for those who buy e-bikes. But I partly think that even people who bought an e-bike for some reason could end up with us because it will be more favorable. There, the pedaling disappears, or he can pedal if he wants, the possibility is there, but it is not a necessity like on an electric bike,” he added.
The machine has a simple design and is quite robust thanks to the metal frame. “With the battery, it weighs 97 kilograms and can carry 176 kilograms. For a small motorcycle, it is a relatively unique carrying capacity. Our speed is limited by the fact that we fall into the category of small motorcycles, to 45 kilometers per hour, however, he could go 80 if he tuned up correctly. But that machine was created as a comfortable means of transport, it is not a racing machine, it would look different,” David Kasl added the parameters of the machine on behalf of the start-up team.

Mopedix already has homologation, so nothing prevents it from driving sleepily on Czech roads!
Experts from the University of Liberec helped in particular with the selection of the electric drive and the solution of the electric weapon. “From the battery to the traction drive, we also tuned the lights, blinkers and display. In our laboratories, we measured electromagnetic compatibility or set individual parameters on the control unit,” said Lukáš Krčmář from the Liberec Faculty of Mechatronics and Interdisciplinary Studies.
The battery with a capacity of 45 ampere-hours (Ah) is suspended under the frame and can be charged from a regular household socket. Depending on the conditions, the moped can travel up to 80 kilometers on one charge. The electric motor is in the rear wheel.

The moped is roughly 80 percent Czech made. The frame and other metal parts are manufactured by Tvarmetal in Vysoké Mýt. “We are starting production, we have orders, but we want to continue development. We have come up with ideas such as a sidecar, a tricycle, we are thinking about a lighter version in the future, an internal combustion engine is also in play, although we keep pushing it back due to Euro standards,” added Jindřich Melichar, who was at the origin of the Czech electric moped.
