DJI Introduces Air 3 Drone with Dual 4K Cameras
Pioneering drone manufacturer DJI has unveiled its latest product, the Air 3, which serves as the successor to the 2021 Air 2s.
The DJI Air 3 offers several improvements over the Air 2, particularly in terms of its camera capabilities. The Air 3 is equipped with two cameras, both capable of recording 4K videos.
The two cameras consist of a wide-angle 24mm (equivalent to FF) f/1.7 lens and a telephoto 70mm f/2.8 lens. The sensors used are 1/1.3-inch type with dual native ISO for both the wide and telephoto cameras.
Users of the Air 3 can record videos in 4K/60 fps or 4K/100 fps, as well as capture photos with a resolution of 48 MP. The Color Modes available include D-Log M 10-bit and HLG 10-bit.
According to information on DJI’s website, the Air 3 also provides the option to record vertical videos (portrait orientation) simultaneously with both cameras. This allows users to dynamically switch between wide and telephoto perspectives for the same subject, while still maintaining a video resolution of 2.7K.
In addition to camera improvements, the battery life of the Air 3 has been enhanced, now capable of flying for 46 minutes, which is 48% longer than its predecessor.
The Air 3’s batteries support DJI’s Power Accumulation feature. When used with a charging hub, users can simply press a button to transfer power from all connected batteries to a single battery.
With the O4 HD transmission system, the Air 3 has a remote control range of up to 20 km with improved stabilization, along with support for 1080p 60 fps image transmission.
The Air 3 is also equipped with omnidirectional vision sensing for detecting objects in its surroundings, as well as the Waypoint Flight feature, which is introduced for the first time in the Air series.
According to KompasTekno, DJI is offering the Air 3 in three packages. The basic package includes the drone, accessories, battery, and RC-N2 remote, priced at $1,099 (Rp 16.5 million).
The second package, called the Fly More Combo, includes the same items as the basic package but adds two additional batteries, a charging hub, and a shoulder bag for carrying the drone. It is priced at $1,
What advantages does the secondary camera of the DJI Air 3 offer with its 3x optical zoom and 2x digital zoom
Primary camera and a secondary camera. The primary camera has a 1/2″ CMOS sensor and a wide-angle lens, allowing users to capture stunning high-resolution photos and videos with vivid colors and details. The secondary camera is a zoom camera that offers a 3x optical zoom and a 2x digital zoom, enabling users to get closer to the action without sacrificing image quality.
One of the standout features of the Air 3 is its ability to shoot in HDR video. HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology enhances the contrast and color accuracy of videos, resulting in more vibrant and lifelike footage. This feature adds another dimension to aerial videography, allowing users to capture breathtaking scenes with greater clarity and realism.
In addition to its camera capabilities, the Air 3 also comes with a range of intelligent flight modes and features that make it easier than ever to capture professional-quality shots. The ActiveTrack 4.0 feature uses advanced algorithms and computer vision technology to identify and track subjects, enabling the drone to follow them autonomously while avoiding obstacles. This is perfect for capturing dynamic action shots or creating cinematic footage.
Another useful feature is the Point of Interest 3.0 mode, which allows users to select a specific point of interest, and the drone will automatically circle around it while keeping it in frame. This is great for capturing stunning aerial shots of landmarks or creating smooth, captivating panning shots.
The Air 3 also includes DJI’s renowned obstacle avoidance technology, ensuring a safe and reliable flight experience. The sensors on the front, sides, and bottom of the drone detect obstacles in real-time and automatically navigate around them. This feature is especially useful for beginners or those flying in crowded areas.
In terms of flight performance, the Air 3 is powered by a high-capacity battery that provides up to 31 minutes of flight time, allowing users to capture more footage without having to constantly land and recharge. The drone also features DJI’s advanced OcuSync 3.0 transmission system, which provides a stable and reliable connection between the drone and the controller, ensuring smooth video transmission and precise control.
Overall, the DJI Air 3 is a powerful and versatile drone that brings professional-quality camera capabilities to the consumer market. With its dual 4K cameras, intelligent flight modes, and obstacle avoidance technology, it is an excellent choice for photographers, videographers, and drone enthusiasts who want to take their aerial creativity to new heights.
