This type of diesel has a sulfur content of 50 ppm, equivalent to Euro IV.
It is believed that the level of carbon emissions from diesel cars will be reduced significantly due to the use of lower sulfur content, which is a maximum of only 50 parts per million (ppm).
This limit follows the Euro IV standard so that it is much different from the type of diesel fuel that has been circulating first.
Pertamina Dex for example, the maximum sulfur content is 500 ppm.
“The exhaust gas emissions of vehicles using this type of fuel will certainly be cleaner, which will further improve air quality to be cleaner and healthier,” said Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, as quoted by Antara, Saturday (4/2/2022). ).
“Furthermore, it will significantly contribute to supporting Indonesia’s energy transition program,” he added.
However, because it is a new version of Pertamina Dex, the price of CN 51 is the same, which is around Rp. 14,000 per liter.
As for this implementation, it is a follow-up to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number P.20/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/3/2017 of 2017 dated April 7, 2017 concerning Quality Standards for Exhaust Gas Emissions for New Types of Vehicles Category M, Category N and Category O.
