Introducing Case Engine: Russia’s Newest 3D Game Engine Competing with Nau Engine

It will be inferior to Unreal Engine, but will become a strong competitor to the domestic Nau Engine.

A new 3D game engine is being developed in Russia. It is created by the domestic studio Case. The engine is called Case Engine. Information about him appeared on the official website of the project.

“A modern gaming platform created by Russian enthusiasts, providing the latest technologies, and at the same time supporting work on outdated systems,” is how the developers describe Case Engine.

See what Case Engine can do now:

According to studio representatives, the software will support DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 in the future. The engine will receive integration with Blender – 3D models from the program will be drawn in the engine interface in real time.

Case Engine is written in its own CSE language. Game creators will be able to use it and other popular languages, including C++, Python and Lua. The authors of the project promise good optimization – games based on Case Engine will run stably even on low-power PCs.

The Case Engine has been in development since 2023. There are seven people in the team in total. At the moment the engine is 15% complete. Its release is scheduled for 2025, but may be delayed. Case Engine will be a free engine, but only for amateur (indie) developers. Large studios will have to buy a license, the cost of which has not yet been disclosed. Only paid license holders will have access to the source code.
