Currently, the need for photo and video creation continues to increase. Professionals certainly need a capable camera to get quality pictures. In addition, they wanted a high-end camera device that had a compact and lightweight design that made it easy to produce anywhere.

Canon through PT Datascrip as the sole distributor of its digital imaging products in Indonesia, presents the Canon EOS R8, a full-frame mirrorless camera with a compact and lightweight design. At around 461grams, the EOS R8 is the lightest full-frame camera currently in Canon’s EOS R series.

Equipped with the latest features and technologies such as the fast and precise Dual Pixel AF II technology and a continuous shooting speed of up to 40 fps, the EOS R8 provides high-quality video and photo quality like a pro.

“Cameras with large sensor sizes sometimes make the camera body not compact. However, with the EOS R8, professionals can take advantage of full-frame quality with a compact and lightweight camera, providing flexibility for shooting while exploring the city to recording daily activities,” said Monica Aryasetiawan – Canon Business Unit Director PT Datascrip.

Professionals can get more creativity with full-frame cameras, starting from getting a stunning bokeh effect by producing a shallower depth of field, maximizing shooting with a wide-angle lens, to clear images with minimal noise at high ISO. Equipped with a 24.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor and DIGIC X processor, the EOS R8 is capable of taking high-speed continuous images of up to 40 fps in Electronic Shutter mode.

This full-frame CMOS sensor also enables the EOS R8 to produce high-quality 4K UHD footage without cropping (oversampled from 6K) up to 60p. The camera also has heat suppression which allows for up to 4K 30p shooting with no recording time limitations, and up to 30 minutes at 4K 60p.

In addition to normal 8-bit recording, the EOS R8 offers the option of 4:2:2 10-bit high dynamic range video recording. HDR PQ delivers incredible dynamic range and beautiful colors. In addition, the existence of Canon Log 3 makes flexibility for post-pro workflows for more professional color processing.

The EOS R8 supports Full HD shooting at up to 180 frames per second (180p). This allows users to record smooth slow-motion videos, which are 6x slower when played back at 30p.

When shooting videos without a tripod (handheld), the resulting image often shakes, but with the EOS R8 users don’t need to worry because this camera is equipped with Movie Digital IS which can digitally perform 5-axis image stabilization tilt correction during video recording, making images the result is more stable, even when using a lens without Optical IS. When combined with a lens that has Optical IS, the two systems perform coordinated control for better image stabilization results.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system on Canon cameras is known for its exceptionally fast and accurate Auto Focus (AF). On the EOS R8, the AF system is also equipped with EOS iTR AF X, an intelligent technology that can detect and track faces, eyes and bodies in people and animals (dogs, cats and birds), as well as vehicles (cars and motorcycles). ). This includes identifying other subjects and “locking in” them using characteristics, such as shape, color, and brightness.

To support shooting in low light conditions, it can also be addressed with an ISO sensitivity of up to 102,400 for photos with a focus brightness range of up to EV -6.5 and an ISO sensitivity of up to 25,600 for videos with a focus brightness range of up to EV-4.
