Serang (ANTARA) – Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri Tangerang has just launched a breast cancer center called BRAVE (Breast Advanced Cancer Center) on Saturday (2/9), one of which provides surgical services for breast cancer sufferers.
President Director of Mandaya Hospital Group (MHG), dr. Benedictus Widaja, in a written statement on Wednesday, said that BRAVE is a breast cancer center in Indonesia that is designed to treat all types of breast cancer, including luminal A, luminal B, positive HER2 and triple negative breast cancer, both from stage 1 to stage 4 or advanced. .
“The Mandaya BRAVE Breast Cancer Center was created from a collaboration between breast cancer survivors and a team of specialist doctors, where we put forward the lumpectomy method or breast conservation surgery which aims to preserve the patient’s original breast and only remove the tumor and cancer tissue. This can be done because at Mandaya BRAVE we supported by a team of 19 multidisciplinary oncologists and advanced technology such as tissue analysis of frozen section (VC) malignancy, LINAC radiotherapy with radiosurgery technology (high gradient) and combination therapy (chemotherapy, immunotherapy & targeted therapy),” explained dr. Ben Widaja as President Director of Mandaya Hospital Group.

Enos.
Prof. Dr. dr. Soehartati A. Gondhowiardjo, Sp.Onk.Rad (K) in the same forum added the importance of managing the treatment window for breast cancer patients. “The best time window for breast cancer patients from surgery to chemotherapy to radiation is less than 180 days, if it is below 180 days the survival rate increases significantly,” explained Prof. Soehartati.
Prof. Soehartati added that if a breast cancer patient has completed a series of chemotherapy, then a good time window is less than 28 days to start radiation therapy or irradiation.
Besides being supported by a multidisciplinary team of oncology specialists, Mandaya BRAVE is also equipped with LINAC Elekta Versa HD Radiotherapy Technology, which is the same tool used by the American MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Mandaya also has an anatomical pathology lab and a special clinic that is able to see the chemical properties of tumor or cancer tissue using biomarkers to determine the type of therapy that is suitable, commonly called the CPI examination.
Not only that, Mandaya BRAVE also has molecular examination technology that can detect the possibility of breast cancer recurrence.
