Introducing 3DMark Steel Nomad: The New Benchmarking Standard

There is a new contender for the title of benchmarking standard – 3DMark Steel Nomad, which can replace Time Spy, which has served as a reliable tool for overclockers and testers for seven years.

The best graphics cards and gaming processors are always tested by 3DMark Time Spy. Many tech experts and bloggers have used it, but it’s time to look at other tools, and it’s no surprise that the next big innovation comes from 3DMark.

UL Solutions, the company behind 3DMark and celebrating its 25th anniversary, has unveiled three impressive screenshots from Steel Nomad. And although it is known that it will not include ray tracing tests, the published images look very impressive and demanding.

One might wonder why this “powerful” benchmark lacks ray tracing. However, there are many other solutions for ray tracing testing, such as 3DMark Port Royal. Steel Nomad will focus solely on maximizing CPU and GPU load, allowing it to showcase its results to the testing community.

The release date for Steel Nomad has not yet been confirmed, but is likely to be as early as 2024. In the provided screenshots, UL indicates that the new testing software will contain references to previous versions.
