Intesa Sanpaolo is transferring thousands of account holders to the digital bank Isybank. Customers are angry. Many didn’t know anything, that’s what happens.
You know when to open Home Banking and find communications from the bank? How many of you read them carefully? Most people ignore them but this is a mistake that Intesa Sanpaolo account holders are unlikely to make a second time.

Since last July 19th the bank has started sending thousands of communications to all customers chosen for the move to Isybank, the group’s digital bank. The move was absolutely not mandatory but to stay Intesa should have communicated by September 30th by contacting the toll-free number 800 303 303. Those who have not read the message or have not done so carefully now find themselves forced to accept the move to Isybank.
Intesa Sanpaolo and the transfer to Isybank
The choice fell on account holders who rarely use branches and are, therefore, predominantly digital. Those over 65 and account holders with over 100 thousand euros as well as those who have carried out more than ten transactions in the branch in the last year were excluded from the transfer.
How the transition to Isybank takes place – Turiweb.it
Isybank, in fact, is a totally digital bank, without a support branch but also more convenient. The tariff plan with Isybank is called IsyPrime and with the same operations it is more convenient than the costs incurred with Intesa. It costs 9.90 euros per month and allows withdrawal without additional costs from any branch as well as the possibility of making instant transfers without additional costs.
The transition will take place automatically with the new bank which will take care of communicating the new account code and IBAN to the customer. Credit and debit cards, however, will remain active until they expire and will then be replaced by Isybank cards. Mortgages, loans, safety deposit boxes and savings accounts will remain linked to Intesa Sanpaolo.
According to many account holders, the methods of communicating the transfer were wrong. Intesa Sanpaolo responded that the methods indicated by the customer when signing the contract were used. Furthermore the notice was given with long advance giving time to make that phone call that would have blocked the change.
What will happen now? Former Intesa Sanpaolo account holders will be able to accept the opportunity to be part of a digital bank (with lower costs) or they will be able to decide to change Group and choose another institution with a branch in their city. Should you trust the Intesa Sanpaolo Group or not?
