The grandmother of the Palestinian child Youssef, a victim of the Israeli occupation bombing, spoke with Youssef TV about the scene of the little boy’s departure. Aida Abdel Aziz, Youssef’s grandmother, said in her interview on Youssef TV: After I learned of the news of Youssef’s martyrdom, I called my daughter and tried to talk to her and be patient. I didn’t feel sick and cried for nothing. And I kept saying to her, “My dear, you are a martyr, and you are the mother of the martyr. You are guaranteed Paradise. He will hold you by the hand and say, ‘He will not enter Paradise except through my mother and father.’ You are my blessings. I mean, these are all blessings from our Lord.”
She added: “I always told him, ‘Oh, your hair is long, like a girl’s. Cut it.’ He told me, ‘No, Tita. Me too. If I go to school, I won’t cut it. I won’t go to school. If they tell me to cut your hair, I love curly, and I don’t want my hair to be anything other than curly.'”
She continued: “Every time a mother raises one of her children, he is martyred, and then they kill children, women, and the elderly. It is forbidden. It is forbidden when the children are still under the rubble, dead, and they do not know how to get them out. They want to eliminate the Palestinian people, but they want to eliminate us. No way will they eliminate us. There will never be another displacement. We will die in A place.”
She ended her speech by saying: “My son, who is there in Gaza, told me and said, ‘By God, Mama, he smelled of musk coming out of him. Praise be to God, he is a martyr. I want to tell Joseph, ‘You are my love, you are the light of my eyes from within.’ May God have mercy on you. You are one of the birds of Paradise. You are now with our lady Sarah and our master.” Ibrahim and they are the ones who brought you up. I love you very much. When you leave from there, come to us.”
