Journalism major students from the Franz Tamayo Private University (Unifranz) interviewed the Lieutenant Governor of Santa CruzMario Aguilera, to know his impressions on the present and the perspectives of the department, facing the celebration of the September festivities.
The interview was conducted as part of un field work that future journalists carry out daily under the guidance of Maggy Talavera, a professor at Unifranz and a renowned journalist from Santa Cruz.
Gabriela Pareja, Lucas Nazrala, Leonardo Rivera, Jaime Paniagua, Alexander Vaca, Remberto Hurtado and Franco Delgadillo posed a series of questions to the authority and also expressed their concerns and perceptions about the political and economic situation in Santa Cruz and Bolivia.
One of the topics of greatest interest was the conflict generated by the construction project for the Buena Vista-Las Cruces highway, which caused an 11-day blockade. In this regard, the departmental authority elaborated on the technical studies that support the opposition to the line proposed by the Bolivian Highway Administrator.
They also talked about the metropolization projects and the perspectives generated by this project.
In addition, Aguilera highlighted the initiative of Unifranz to promote meetings between students and the authorities due to the need to listen to the youth that represents at least 30% of the population that lives in the department of Santa Cruz.
The authority also stated that Santa Cruz always finds solutions to all its problems with effort and own initiatives. He encouraged the students to complete all their tasks with passion and effort because he believes that success is the fruit of hard work and discipline.
