Interview with Kaspars – Winner of “Lauku sēta” and Future Plans

“I knew in my heart that I needed it and I would not back down. I entered the final first. If you compare me and Mathis, who is athletic, how I managed it, I don’t know. I guess it was written in my destiny,” says the winner of “Lauku seta”.

“This time, the one who drives slower and goes further won,” says Kaspars. Although he was the first at the chest in the last stage of the final, he had no more energy, while Matís, as an athlete, went at the same pace all the time. “He ran to the keys, I just saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I checked the keys much less, so luck was on my side. The whole of Latvia was excited that I won. A surprise to many,” says Gandvil.

For those who believe that Kaspars will spend the prize money lightly, he says: “I said in the first episode that I would make the biggest party if I won. But at no point did I think that I could win in “Lauku sēta”. I left to “shine”. I didn’t know I would get this far, it wasn’t even in my dreams.”

Kaspars says that the money is planned to be invested in his farm – one part will be spent on the renovation of the house and the construction of the barn, the other – on the expansion of the bee colony, which he sees as a source of profit in the future. “The materials, the screws, how much do they cost! Color. I haven’t painted anything in a long time. A liter of paint now costs 10 euros. I need three liters to paint five hives.

Locals in the town ask: where are you going to put the big money? I say, in our times, unfortunately, it is not so much money anymore. If the average salary in Latvia is 1,500 euros, with which you can survive independently, then it is half a year’s salary,” says Kaspars.
At the same time, the guy thinks that the opportunity to earn almost 10 thousand euros in such a short period of time is only once in life. “It’s capital,” says Kaspar.

Jelgavnieks has decided to expand the business of growing flowers, in which he helps his mother and which ensures seasonal profit. “This is a common family business for us. Mom has been doing it for 20 years,” says Kaspars.

At the Jaunpiebalga farm “Sila Jānēni”, Kaspars tried to seduce 23-year-old Inga Berezovska from Carnikava, who joined the participants of the game later. Kaspars even cherished the hope of meeting the girl’s parents.

As he says now, the two met at a couple of parties organized together. “I communicated with Inga, but nothing more. I am still free, available. I’m not looking for anyone with fire, but if something hits…

I believe that if people are meant to meet, the day will come when the other person will be. I believe in fate more,” says Kaspars.
