Interview with Czech striker Chorý after deciding match against Moldova

Chorý set up the leading goal for David Douděr in the 14th minute and made it 2-0 with a header from a corner in the 72nd minute.

At the beginning of the second half, the Moldovan defender Vladislav Baboglo received a second yellow and red card for a blow to the head during an aerial duel with the 28-year-old striker.

“It’s very nice to come home and actually decide a match like this. I guess this is how I imagined it,” said Chorý.

“I definitely have mixed feelings. It’s hard for me to evaluate it because it was my first time here. I always wanted to leave everything on the field and repay the coach. Unfortunately, he’s finished now and I’ll have to prove it to someone else,” added the pupil of Olomouc Sigma.

He ranked the duel with Moldova among the most important matches of his career. “I would compare it to matches in Europe and the Champions League. I love such big matches, I enjoy them. I’m glad that I could confirm it with a goal and an assist and that we managed it, which was the most important thing,” said Chorý.

He put his finger to his mouth in celebration of his hit. “It was not a message to the critics. I have such a celebration, I also observe it in Pilsen. My daughter Elenka came up with such a celebration for me to do it every time she watches TV. I hope she saw it, it wasn’t too late and she didn’t panic. ” explained Chorý.

He felt a lot of pressure on coach Šilhavý and the entire national team, which intensified after defenders Jakub Brabec, Vladimír Coufal and forward Jan Kuchta visited a nightclub in Olomouc on the night of Saturday to Sunday and were kicked out of the team.

“A lot of people live in failure rather than success. Here in the Czech Republic, good things are forgotten very quickly. It’s a shame, because this team and the project manager are of high quality. The goal, which is Europe, has been achieved again. I’m satisfied,” said Chorý.

According to him, a possible nomination for the Euro in Germany next year will depend on what form he will have in Victoria in the spring.

“It will be important for me to maintain my performance in the club. Also for my health. We will see what kind of coach will be here, if I can help the team and the boys and if I will be useful to the coach,” thought the tall forward.

He was happy that he had almost his entire family in the stands of Andro’s stadium and that the spectators were chanting his name.

“When I scored two goals last time in Olomouc (for Pilsen), they didn’t like me here either. I thought it wasn’t a very good situation. But it turned around. This is what you play football for, so that the Czech nation and the fans in the stadium your name. I’m terribly happy for that,” Chorý added.
