From the Frosinone press room, the Nerazzurri coach Alberto Aquilani, assisted by the players Canestrelli and Tramoni, spoke after the defeat and elimination from the Italian Cup. Their statements are below
Aquilani: “I think the boys played a good game, even if the defeat came. It must give us awareness in our means because we played against a Serie A opponent. This can lead us to be confident for the championship debut. I didn’t see the difference in category and this made me very happy, in my opinion it’s the most important thing that emerges from the match against Frosinone. The high blood pressure we suffered is part of the game and it bore fruit because we played more easily in the second half. We don’t like to start immediately with one less game postponed we don’t know when, it’s not something we can control unfortunately. Miguel Veloso’s debut was positive, we all know him and he’s a player who brings us charisma, quality and experience.”
canestrelli: “We put in a good performance, especially in defence, while we had some difficulties in the first half obviously linked to the mechanisms still to be oiled. We must have confidence because we are working well. We all have the same ideas that Aquilani is instilling in us. He is sorry to have lost, but we will focus on the championship eager to find the first victory as soon as possible. Our idea is always to play, but we need to understand how the opponents will press us time after time.”
Matteo Tramoni: “We played a good match, we could have even scored, but we didn’t succeed. We still have to improve something, perhaps the last step and a little more nastiness, but the path is the right one. In the second half we played much better than in the first half. Two weeks before the start of the championship, we can say that we are trying to put all Aquilani’s tactical dictates into practice”
