Interview with Auškāpa from Prāta Vētra: Providence, Luck, and 34 Years of Music

“Yes, that phenomenon… It’s a saying and a grain of thought borrowed from Renard – for something to happen, providence and luck are necessary. In my understanding, it’s the favor of higher forces and a lucky coincidence of circumstances – being at the right time and in the right place is a plus, of course, each one’s individual talent. They create songs together, they perform them together, and the energy that comes when these people come together creates that common energy field that has taken over so many people. It’s a whole, a uniqueness.”

“Apollo.lv” already reported that in this conversation, Auškāpa also looked back on a not so positive event – the group “Prāta vētra” was once on the verge of disbanding.

The domestic group “Prāta vētra” has existed for 34 years. The group was formed in 1989 in Jelgava, Latvia. Renārs Kaupers, Jānis Jubalts, Māris Mihelsons and Kaspars Roga play music in the band.
