Phanee de Pool admits to having been nervous before her performance for the Georges Brassens prize.

Phanee de Pool sounds a bit like Barry White when we hear him this morning. “I shouted a lot, I’m happy,” she told us straight away by telephone. The singer from Bienne has just won the Georges Brassens trophy on March 13 in Sète (F).
This is a prize intended for French-speaking singer-songwriters. From around a hundred applications, a jury made up of around fifteen professionals selected five finalists to perform three songs. “I was quite consumed by stage fright. I’m used to concerts lasting an hour and a half, not competitions where you only have to choose a few pieces. Fortunately, I was accompanied by my pianist Etienne Champollion.”
“I think I’ll keep the trophy in my arms when I go through customs”
Phanee de Pool, singer
In the end, everything went perfectly well, she was the winner of this 8th edition. “It is an honor to receive this award. In addition, in Sète, in the stronghold of Georges Brassens. He’s an artist I’ve admired since I was able to recognize the quality of a song, that is to say since I was little. It’s crazy to win this trophy. I am extremely proud to bring him back to Switzerland. I think I’m going to keep him in my arms when I go through customs,” she laughs.
Phanee de Pool adds that this award has special meaning. “I have had a lot of nominations during my seven-year career (editor’s note: Swiss Music Awards or the Georges Moustaki prize), but I never won. I’m happy to have something physical that I can put on a piece of furniture.”
Thanks to this victory, she is also scheduled for next June at the When I Think of Fernande festival, in Sète. The headliners are none other than Véronique Sanson, Eddy de Pretto, -M- and Pomme.
A career that is developing in France
The 35-year-old Romande also continues her tour. The one who released the album “AlgorYthme” last October will be at the Alhambra in Geneva on March 19 for the Festival Voix de Fête. You can also find her at numerous festivals in Switzerland, but also in Paris.
“I was only supposed to do one date at L’Archipel in Paris last November and in the end, it was sold out. We then decided to extend. Since then, I’ve been playing there one Wednesday a month, at least until June. I feel like I’m starting a career again in France. A bit like how she started in Switzerland seven years ago. The mayonnaise sets little by little, we add oil by the dropper and it gives something super cool,” she concludes with emotion.
