Is welcoming the public an important part of your job?

These are mainly the administrative procedures. The team deals with marital status: death, marriage, recognition, Pac… And since July 2022 we have been innovating name changes. We get birth alerts when births happen out of the ordinary to save them.

We must also welcome the complaints of the inhabitants. When there are neighborhood problems or conflicts, the Municipal Police Brigade Chief takes over.

And the accounting part?

When I arrived, it was just computerized. Warrants (payments) and securities (receipts) were done manually. Today we have arrived at dematerialization. Everything that goes in cash goes in dematerialized flow. We too have had to evolve in our operations. We have anticipated the new M57 accounting, which will be mandatory in January 2024, which will allow for a single income statement. We will no longer have the management account drawn up by the treasury and the administrative account drawn up by the municipality, but a single document.

What about Human Resources?

The salaries of the agents are established in the town hall according to their employment. But it’s also the career management of agents. Always be on the lookout for flyers. I just received a circular informing that the wage index will be increased in January.

And the management of rooms and cemeteries?

This is the domain of Christelle Legourgeois. There are three municipal halls: the town hall, the form and the hall of the old schools. We have now moved on to the software to set the times. When an association books a room for an event, all the management of this event (drinks or orders, technical assistance, equipment) goes through the town hall secretariat.

For cemeteries, a great effort was made in 2022 with the digitization of operations and places. We are not yet at the top of the leadership, but the deputy mayor, Hubert Furdyna, has helped us.

Urban planning is a very technical field, who does it?

With the PLUi, everything had to be started. Now he too has been dematerialized since January 1, 2022. Fortunately we have Jérôme Briouze, territorial agent, who takes care of this part.

Are there tasks that we don’t suspect, shadow work in a sense?

Yes, it’s everything the residents don’t see, like relationships with elected officials, files to prepare for board meetings, follow-up files, grant applications. It is also the preparation of the budget for which I am helped by Brigitte Mottin, deputy mayor.

Do you also have to intervene in the social field?

It’s something special, but we have to face certain situations almost every day. Catherine Godard, deputy mayor, works a little outside the services for confidentiality. People in big trouble still find it difficult to push the door to the community.

Installed in the town hall annex, are the Maison France services an advantage for the inhabitants?

Yes, it allows you to satisfy needs such as the request for vehicle documents. We are called to work together, together. For example, the services of Maison France will help me with the population census. People who don’t have internet or don’t know how to use it will be referred to her and she will help them.

Do you also take care of the communication department?

It is a question of highlighting many events, but also everything related to the public service, such as the new timetables of the separate waste collection center, among others, on the municipality’s website, but also on the light panel.

For ceremonies and commemorations, what is your job?

It is necessary to invite the list of officers to the ceremonies, it is also the preparation of the wine of honor, the purchase of sheaves. At the moment, it is the preparation of the mayor’s greetings.

When there are elections, there is also a lot of work to do with the organization of the offices, updating the electoral list, among other things.

What has changed in over 30 years?

We had to evolve. We have practically no mail left, we are inundated with emails and yet we must be very vigilant, do not forget to open anything. If it’s an email from the sub-prefecture, we’ll open right away. Which means that we don’t always have time to analyze everything that happens to us, because we also have all our work to do.

For accounting we had the Molay-Littry Treasury, we took the car and drove there, now it’s just email exchanges.
