When we spoke to Mads Mikkelsen this spring, he did not show himself during the interview. We could only hear him. That’s how it goes with Zoom interviews. But even without showing his face, you can hear Mikkelsen, who is usually cast in Hollywood as a ‘James Bond’ villain (in ‘Casino Royale’), as a bloodthirsty cannibal (in ‘Hannibal’) or as a dark wizard (in the new ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie), is an extremely sympathetic appearance. Maybe he just hadn’t shaved: after all, a Mads Mikkelsen with a beard is quite intimidating.
