Intersport has just moved. The sporting goods brand is found on the other side of Montluçon, close to its direct competitors in the Saint-Jacques area.
“We were eccentric to our old location”
“The opportunity to take the place of the La Halle store which closed in July arose, so we quickly positioned ourselves”, explains Estelle Guillaumin, the store manager.
The brand wanted to return to the area’s most commercial area, created in the early 2010s: “We were out of the way at our old location”.
This move took place in the particular context of the health crisis. However, for Stéphane Barrioz, sales manager within the Leclerc group, a cooperative which has 23 Intersport stores in France including the one in Montluçon, there was no hesitation when validating this decision.
Two positions created
Despite a slight decrease in the sales area to 1,500 square meters, the store has been completely redesigned and rehabilitated in the current codes of the Intersport brand. The same universes and services can therefore be found from this Wednesday, March 24.
To improve the good performance of the point of sale and the reception of customers, in addition to the nine employees already present in the old store, two people on open-ended contracts, one full-time and the other part-time , are recruited.
