Interrogated 30 witnesses – VG


The police are fully investigating the fatal fire on Askøy. They want contact with more witnesses.

– We are early in the investigation of a serious and demanding case, says police attorney Are Nygård Bergh to VG.

The police have so far questioned around 30 witnesses in the case, and have received several tips.

They want to talk to more witnesses who have not yet been in contact with the police.

– We ask that those who have stayed in the area around the house where it burned between 08.00 and 09.00 on Friday 11 February or have driven past Florvåg during the same period and have a dashboard camera in the car get in touch, they write in the press release.

A man charged

A man in his 40s charged with “setting fire that can easily lead to loss of life”.

The autopsy of the dead was carried out on Sunday. The police expect to receive a preliminary report and secure identification of the two dead on Monday afternoon, possibly Tuesday morning, the police state in a press release.

The accused man denies criminal guilt. He has been remanded in custody for two weeks.
