Internist-Infectiologist Jos Frissen Discusses 32-Year Career in HIV Care at Baarn Library

Jos Frissen will soon give a lecture in the library for Blikopeners.

On October 19, internist-infectiologist Jos Frissen will talk about his 32-year career in HIV care during Blikopeners in the Baarn library. Anyone who contracted AIDS in 1987 – the year that Frissen started working as a doctor in HIV care – was doomed. The disease was still untreatable, but thanks to the tireless efforts of (Dutch) doctors and scientists from all over the world, it became an easily treatable, chronic disease. Yet the disease still cannot be cured and there is still no vaccine.
