Internet connections both through mobile phones and other devices are experiencing major disruptions in Canada. As a result, many services crash so that residents are distraught as a result internet apocalypse.
As quoted detikINET from the BBC, the operator of the country’s largest internet service provider, Roger Communications, is having problems providing a connection. ATM services, hospitals and government operations throughout the country are also affected.
Roger Communications promised to immediately fix all problems that occur. “We know how important it is for our consumers to stay connected,” they said in a statement.

It is not known exactly what caused their internet crash. According to internet monitoring agency NetBlocks, internet traffic has fallen by around 75% from normal levels due to the disruption.
Rogers’ mobile service has 11 million subscribers across Canada, which is a lot. This is the second time a major disruption has hit the operator in the past year.
“The company is still identifying the root cause of this problem. At this time, we don’t have a timetable for when this problem can be resolved. I can’t say whether it will be fully online today or not,” said Rogers Communications vice president, Kye Prigg.
Police in several areas of Canada said cell phone users had difficulty contacting emergency services. The downfall of the internet has also put immigration offices, courts and payment systems in trouble. Likewise services in hospitals.
